Acupuncture

The Wind is Fierce

Bowing before it I find

My true strength.

For some 5,000 years, acupuncture has been used in the Orient to treat illness and promote well-being. In developing the methods of acupuncture, Chinese doctors learned how to insert needles into the body to balance the body's energy system, through which the life

force (Chi) flows. When this energy is stagnant or blocked, many problems occur. From the viewpoint of modern medicine, the principle action of acupuncture and moxibustion is to regulate the function of the body and to increase resistance by enhancing the immune

system  and the analgesic, antispasmodic, antishock, and antiparalytic abilities of the body. At the end of a treatment, it is common  to feel relaxed and slightly tired, because acupuncture causes a release within the body of natural, healing and relaxing endorphins.
